Watch the replay of the press convention with ESA undertaking astronaut Marcus Wandt going down on the European Astronaut Centre in Cologne (Germany) as he prepares for his first mission to the Worldwide Area Station.
He was joined by one other ESA astronaut, Matthias Maurer. Marcus’s mission, referred to as Muninn, is supported by ESA and the Swedish Nationwide Area Company (SNSA).
The mission will last as long as 14 days, by which Marcus will participate in microgravity analysis and academic outreach actions. Marcus shall be a mission specialist on Ax-3 and his launch is scheduled on a SpaceX Dragon spacecraft no sooner than January 2024.
