Following instructions from floor controllers at SpaceX in Hawthorne, California, Dragon undocked at 5:05 p.m. EST from the ahead port of the station’s Concord module. On the time of undocking the station was flying at an altitude about 260 miles southwest of Chile.

After re-entering Earth’s ambiance, the spacecraft will make a parachute-assisted splashdown off the coast of Florida on Friday, Dec. 22. NASA is not going to broadcast the splashdown, however updates will likely be posted on the company’s area station weblog.

Dragon arrived on the area station Nov. 11 as SpaceX’s twenty ninth commercial resupply services mission for NASA, delivering about 6,500 kilos of analysis investigations, crew provides, and station {hardware}. It was launched Nov. 9 on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Launch Complicated 39A at Kennedy.

Be taught extra about station actions by following the area station weblog, @space_station and @ISS_Research on X, in addition to the ISS Facebook and ISS Instagram accounts.
