The area shuttle Endeavour will likely be lifted into place at its museum-exhibit dwelling early Tuesday morning (Jan. 30), and you may watch the motion stay.

A 450-foot-tall (137 meters) crane will set up Endeavour at its designated spot within the California Science Middle “in a large and technically difficult course of that has by no means earlier than been achieved outdoors of a NASA or Air Power facility,” museum representatives mentioned in a description of the event.

You may watch it stay right here at House.com, courtesy of the California Science Middle, or directly via the Los Angeles museum, starting at 12:30 a.m. EST (0530 GMT). It is unclear how lengthy the elevate will take.

The crane elevate marks the fruits of “Go for Stack,” a six-month-long effort to get Endeavour, its two strong rocket boosters and its exterior gasoline tank into their last vertical configuration, as they regarded on launch day.

However that does not imply you’ll see the Endeavour show simply but.

“The long run Samuel Oschin Air and House Middle is a significant enlargement of the California Science Middle and will likely be Endeavour’s everlasting dwelling,” the museum’s description reads. “Development is anticipated to proceed for the subsequent 18 months, adopted by artifact and exhibit set up. A gap date has not but been introduced.”

Endeavour, NASA’s youngest shuttle, flew 25 missions earlier than the shuttle program was retired in 2011.

The company’s different surviving space-flown shuttles, Discovery and Atlantis, are on the Nationwide Air and House Museum’s Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Middle in Virginia and the Kennedy House Middle Customer Complicated in Florida, respectively.
