A brilliant Nova has been reported in Scorpius.PNV J17261813-3809354 was found by Andrew Pearce (Nedlands, W. Australia) on 2024 Feb. 09.8438 UT. It has been confirmed spectroscopically as a classical galactic nova. The nova is at the moment magnitude 6.4, slightly below unaided eye visibility, however simply seen in binoculars, see http://www.cbat.eps.harvard.edu/unconf/followups/J17261813-3809354.html for the main points.
