Armagh Planetarium has launched a screening of a digital movie poem by Csilla Toldy, award-winning author and video artist/experimental film-maker

Ec(h)o is supported by the Nationwide Lottery by means of the Arts Council of Northern Eire with a Digital Artist Growth Award

Talking concerning the film-poem Csilla Toldy, MA stated:

“Echo in Greek mythology is the nymph whose personal voice is rarely heard. She is cursed to repeat what she hears, thus she is ignored by all. That is an analogy for present-day attitudes to ecology. Eco-activists aren’t heard, they’re cursed to repeat themselves endlessly.

On this 16-minute-long movie, I focussed on the weather that create our world: air, water, earth and fireplace. Because of the three screens within the Copernicus Corridor of Armagh Planetarium, the viewer can have an immersive, multi-sensory expertise of nature, sound, and animation. It’s notably becoming that the movie screening is alongside the Planetarium’s exhibition on local weather change.”

Matthew Malcolm, Artistic Industries Growth Officer, Arts Council of Northern Eire, commented, “The Arts Council of Northern Eire is worked up to see Csilla Toldy’s new work within the Armagh Planetarium; supported by the Nationwide Lottery Particular person Artist Digital Evolution Programme.  We’re dedicated to encouraging work that crosses artform boundaries and this piece of immersive, multi-screen artwork brings collectively poetry, sound design, filmmaking, and animation.

Exhibiting on the Armagh Planetarium encourages consideration and discourse of the synergies between science and the humanities; each rooted in remark, interpretation, and communication.  Because of Nationwide Lottery gamers this funding is a sport changer in enabling the Arts Council to assist thrilling and modern initiatives like this.”

The movie is screened in a loop and guests will be capable to interact with the art work within the subsequent 4 weeks between 20th April – 12th Could. Csilla Toldy is giving an artist discuss on Saturday 27th April at 1:00pm speaking about her course of and the concepts behind the art work.
