At 7:28 a.m. EDT, the hatch opened between the Worldwide Area Station and the Roscosmos Soyuz MS-27 spacecraft.
The spacecraft arrived on the orbiting laboratory’s Prichal module at 4:57 a.m. EDT on April 8, after launching from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan at 1:47 a.m. (10:47 a.m. Baikonur time) with NASA astronaut Jonny Kim and Roscosmos cosmonauts Sergey Ryzhikov and Alexey Zubritsky.
The trio will spend roughly eight months aboard the house station earlier than returning to Earth in December.
