As well as the traditional Thanksgiving fare, NASA astronauts on the International Space Station will enjoy clams, smoked salmon and lobster.

About 250 miles above the Earth, NASA astronauts on board the Worldwide House Station (ISS) will take pleasure in an off-duty day for Thanksgiving, together with a bunch meal that options some celebratory meals.

“That is my second Thanksgiving in house, so I extremely suggest it,” stated Mike Fincke, in a video message beamed down from the outpost.

This fall, NASA included a “Vacation Bulk Overwrapped Bag,” or BOB, on a resupply mission that went as much as the station. The bag contained festive objects like clams, oysters, crab meat, quail, and smoked salmon.

When two black holes merge, they release gravitational waves. These waves can be picked up by detectors on Earth, allowing scientists to better understand them.

“Our floor groups and the meals lab at NASA have taken such nice care of us,” stated Zena Cardman, who famous that they’re going to even have conventional fare like turkey and mashed potatoes, all packaged up in ways in which will not trigger a large number in microgravity. “We have even acquired some lobster, which is superb. So I feel it is going to be a very, actually scrumptious meal.”

Fincke displayed a can of cranberry sauce, which occurred to come back from the Russian house company.

This dark-eyed junco died after colliding with a building near Union Station in Washington, D.C., on Nov. 8, 2024. The bird was collected and documented by a volunteer with Lights Out DC, a program that has been gathering data on building collisions like this one since 2010.
