Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa on Saturday canceled his deliberate flight across the moon on a SpaceX car due to uncertainty about when it might be doable.

The tycoon in 2018 launched plans for the lunar flyby voyage. He purchased seats for eight touring companions in 2022 for what can be his second house journey after his 12-day journey to the Worldwide Area Station on a Russian Soyuz spacecraft in 2021.

Maezawa was aiming for the moon journey for 2023, a goal seen by most house observers as overly optimistic given the progress of SpaceX’s Spaceship mega-rocket mission. It might have been the primary non-public flight across the moon.
