SpaceX is making ready to kick off the weekend with the launch of one other batch of its Starlink satellites. The mission, dubbed Starlink 8-8, will add 20 extra satellites to the low Earth orbit constellation, together with 13 which have Direct to Cell capabilities.
Liftoff from Vandenberg House Pressure Base is ready for five:58 a.m. PDT (8:58 a.m. EDT, 1258 UTC). The launch comes lower than 12 hours after SpaceX launched 22 Starlink satellites from Cape Canaveral House Pressure Station and roughly 48 hours after launching the fourth flight of its Starship rocket from southern Texas.
The Falcon 9 first stage booster supporting this mission, tail quantity B1061 within the SpaceX fleet, shall be launching for a twenty first time, tying B1062 as the corporate’s flight leaders. B1061 beforehand launched two quartets of astronauts (Crew-1 and Crew-2), two multi-satellite rideshare missions (Transporter-4 and Transporter-5) in addition to 9 earlier Starlink missions.
