Friday’s launch was SpaceX’s fifth in a bit of over per week, following a Starlink liftoff on July 27, two extra on July 28 and one more one on Friday (Aug. 2).

Breaking house information, the newest updates on rocket launches, skywatching occasions and extra!

The Falcon 9 hadn’t flown for 2 weeks earlier than this busy stretch, grounded within the wake of a uncommon Falcon 9 failure on July 11. That anomaly stemmed from a leak of liquid oxygen within the rocket’s higher stage, which was attributable to a crack in a line for a strain sensor within the liquid-oxygen system — an issue that SpaceX has apparently solved, given the occasions of the previous eight days.
