The First Quarter Moon is Thursday January 18. Saturn is low within the west when twilight ends. Jupiter is highest round nautical twilight and is now properly seen within the early night
sky. Venus is seen within the morning twilight above Mercury. Mars climbs increased within the morning twilight. The Moon is near Jupiter on the 18th. The moon occults the Pleiades on the twentieth (greatest in Western and Central Australia).

Morning

minutes earlier than dawn, click on to embiggen). Venus is starting to decrease
within the morning twilight with Mercury under. Mars is rising on the horizon

this time.

to embiggen). The moon is nearly to cowl the star 17 tau (Electra). The inset is the binocular view of the moon right now. 

about 50 minutes later the moon will cowl the brilliant star Merope, adopted by the brightest star Alcyone 45 minutes later.

From Adelaide 17 tau is roofed at 23:21 ACDST, adopted by Merope 40 minutes later then Alcyone half-hour after that.

From Brisbane, solely 17 Tau is roofed at 00:37 AEST on the twenty first

From Darwin, Merope is roofed at 00:18 ACST on the twenty first, adopted by Alcyone .

From Melbourne, solely 17 Tau is roofed at 00:48 AEDST on the twenty first

From Hobart, solely 17 Tau is roofed at 00:48 AEDST on the twenty first

 

 

 

Complete sky on Saturday, January as seen from Adelaide at 22:15 ACDST, 90 minutes after sundown (click on
to embiggen). Saturn is setting within the west, and Jupiter is excessive within the north-west.Orion is sort of due north. Vibrant Sirius is excessive in  the jap sky. Between the brilliant star
Canopus and the Southern Cross are a wealth of binocular objects to
uncover. Th waxing Moon will make them more durable to see although.

 

   

 Elsewhere
in Australia will see the same view on the equal time (90 minutes after sundown).

 

 

Mercury is now within the morning twilight. Will probably be at its highest on the thirteenth

Venus is within the morning twilight, it can now sink in direction of the horizon however will stay simply seen for all of January.

Mars is low within the morning twilight. 

Jupiter is highest round nautical twilight and is now properly seen within the early night sky. Jupiter is near the Moon on the 18th.

Saturn is previous opposition however is now a troublesome telescopic object low within the west. The crescent Moon is near Saturn on the 14th.
