The New Moon is Wednesday, December 13. Saturn is highest within the
northern night sky round 7:00 p.m. native time. Jupiter is rising earlier than astronomical twilight and is now nicely seen within the night
sky. Venus is seen within the morning twilight and is near the skinny crescent Moon on the tenth. Mercury is seen low within the twilight and is near the skinny crescent moon on the 14th. The Geminid meteor bathe begins to peak on the night 14th-early morning fifteenth.

Morning
sky on Sunday, December 10 as seen from Adelaide at 04:49 ACDST, (60
minutes earlier than dawn, click on to embiggen). Venus is starting to decrease
within the morning twilight and is near the brilliant star Spica. The inset is the telescopic view of Venus at
this time.

Morning
sky on Friday, December 15 as seen from Adelaide at 03:30 ACDST, (when the Geminid radiant is highest, click on to embiggen).  Seen within the early morning till daybreak, this 12 months the height is on the 14th, with no moon interference. The Geminids are sometimes shiny and intensely colored. As a consequence of their medium-slow velocity, persistent trains aren’t often seen. Between a meteor ever 1-2 minutes must be seen beneath darkish skies.

to embiggen). Saturn is setting within the north-west, and Jupiter is rising within the north-east.Scorpius
is sort of set and Sagittarius continues to be seen beneath the zenith heading
in the direction of the western horizon. Orion is rising within the east.

Between the brilliant star
Canopus and the Southern Cross are one other wealth of binocular objects to
uncover. 

 

   

 Elsewhere
in Australia will see an analogous view on the equal time (90 minutes after sundown).

 

 

Mercury is sinking within the twilight and is near the skinny crescent moon on the 14th.

Venus is excessive within the morning twilight, it’ll now sink in the direction of the horizon however will stay simply seen for all of November. Venus is near the skinny crescent Moon on the tenth..

Mars is misplaced within the twilight. 

Jupiter rises earlier than astronomical twilight and is now nicely seen within the late night sky.

Saturn is previous opposition however continues to be shiny and a worthwhile telescopic object.
