SpaceX is making ready to launch a nationwide safety mission on behalf of america’ Nationwide Reconnaissance Workplace (NRO) from Vandenberg Area Pressure Base. The spy company described the categorized mission as “the second launch of NRO’s proliferated structure, delivering vital space-based ISR (intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance) to the nation.

The Falcon 9 rocket supporting this mission will elevate off from Area Launch Complicated 4 East (SLC-4E) on the opening of a two-hour window, set for 8:14 p.m. PDT (11:14 p.m. EDT, 0314 UTC).

Spaceflight Now may have dwell protection starting about half-hour previous to liftoff.

The Falcon 9 first stage booster supporting this mission, tail quantity B1081 within the SpaceX fleet, can be launching for an eighth time. Its earlier missions included the launches of the Crew-7 astronaut mission to the Worldwide Area Station, two local weather monitoring satellites (NASA’s PACE and the European Area Company’s EarthCARE) and two Starlink flights.
