A nova has erupted within the constellation of Lupus, the wolf. Referred to as nova V426 Lupi it’s faint (round magnitude 5.7, on the unaided eye threshold) and could also be glimpsed by these with good visible acuity underneath darkish sky situations. Nevertheless, it’s best with binoculars of a small telescope. It’s nicely positioned for southern hemisphere observers and visual from the early night on.
The nova is more likely to fade over the approaching days, and it’s worthwhile following it because it does so. Chances are you’ll wish to hold a file of its magnitude over this time.
