The New Moon is Friday April 17. Venus climbs increased within the twilight and is near the crescent moon on the Nineteenth. Jupiter dominates the northern sky and is near the Moon on the twenty third. Within the morning Mercury, Mars, Saturn and the skinny crescent Moon do a pleasant dance on the sixteenth, then Mercury, Mars and  Saturn kind a spectacularly shut triangle from the Nineteenth-Twenty second.

The New Moon is Friday April 17. Moon at is at perigee, when it’s closest to the earth on April 19

North-western sky on Thursday, April 23  as seen from Adelaide

minutes after sundown, click on to embiggen).  Jupiter is near the waxing Moon. Jupiter kinds a broad triangle with the intense stars Betelgeuse and Procyon, and a narrower triangle with the celebrities Castor and Pollux.

Brilliant Canopus and Sirius are sinking from the Zenith. Orion is now low within the north-western sky. 

 

The
Southern Cross is rising within the Southern sky.  The moon is new and
the fainter clusters and nebula have gotten simpler to see.    

 

 

 

   

Elsewhere
in Australia will see an identical view on the equal time (90 minutes after sundown).

  

Mercury climbs increased within the morning twilight. On the sixteenth The Crescent Moon, Mercury, Mars and Saturn kind a triangle roughly
one hand-span throughout  low to the horizon. On the fifteenth all of them kind a
line within the twilight. On the sixteenth there’s a gorgeous massing with three unaided eye planets simply above the japanese horizon. Mercury on the high is 4° from Mars and 6° from Saturn, as a bonus, the slender crescent of the waning 28-day-old Moon is close by.
On the twenty first one other good shut conjunction happens with Mercury 0.6° from Saturn and 1.6° from Mars. It’s possible you’ll want binoculars to see these within the twilight.

Saturn is low within the twilight under Mercury and Mars.
