The Full Moon is Sunday Could 31. The pair are enticing within the late twilight. On the twenty eighth Venus could be very near Epsilon Geminorum. On the 4th Venus, Jupiter and the intense star Pollux type a pretty triangle. 

The Full Moon is Sunday Could 31.It is a “Blue” Moon, the second full Moon in a month. The Moon is at apogee when it’s furthest from the Earth furthest from Earth, on the first. Though apogee formally happens on the first, the Full Moon on the thirty first is shut sufficient to match with the later perigee Full Moon. 

Thursday Could 28 to Thursday June 4

Saturn and Mars type a line within the twilight. Saturn is now excessive sufficient for telescopic remark, and its rings are widening.

Venus, Jupiter and the intense star Pollux type a pretty triangle.

Comparable views will likely be seen from the remainder of Australia at roughly the equal native time  (90 minutes after sundown).

 

The jap sky at 17:31 AEST Sunday, Could 31, as seen from Sydney. The moon is about to occult the intense star Antares.

The Blue Moon of the thirty first see a troublesome twilight occultation of Antares, the brightest star in Scorpius. It begins low within the twilight and is generally seen fro the east coast. See my Occultation of Antares web page for main metropolis instances.

The east coast of Australia Australia will see an analogous view at roughly the equal time (see hyperlink above for particular instances). 

Complete sky on  Saturday, Could 30  as seen from Adelaide
at 18:42 ACST, 90 minutes after sundown (click on
to embiggen). Jupiter and Venus are distinguished low within the north-west.

 

Shiny Canopus and Sirius are sinking from the Zenith. Orion is now low within the north-western horizon as Orion’s Nemesis, Scorpius, rises above the south-eastern horizon. 

 

The
Southern Cross is rising within the Southern sky.  The moon waxing and
the fainter clusters and nebula have gotten more durable to see.    

   

Elsewhere
in Australia will see an analogous view on the equal time (90 minutes after sundown).

  

Mercury enters the night twilight, however just isn’t actually seen till subsequent wee.

Venus climbs larger within the night twilight and is now seen when the sky is totally darkish. Venus is coming nearer to Jupiter. The pair are enticing within the late twilight. On the twenty eighth Venus could be very
near Epsilon Geminorum. On the 4th Venus, Jupiter and the intense
star Pollux type a pretty triangle. 

Mars is climbing within the twilight. 

Jupiter is low above the horizon, setting within the early night. Jupiter varieties a broad triangle with the intense stars Betelgeuse and
Procyon, and a narrower triangle with the celebrities Castor and Pollux. On the 4th Venus, Jupiter and the intense
star Pollux type a pretty triangle. 

Saturn is climbing within the twilight above Mars.
