Japanese horizon on the night of Sunday, October 4 as seen from
Adelaide at 20:47 ACDST, 90 minutes after sundown (click on to embiggen).
Saturn
is the brightest object above the jap horizon. Saturn is at opposition, when it’s largest and brightest as seen from Earth, on the 4th and is seen the complete evening. However is finest for
telescopic statement from round midnight on, and its rings are widening.
The inset exhibits the telescopic view of Saturn right now.
Elsewhere
in Australia will see the same view on the equal time (90 minutes after sundown).
Tonight, 4 October, is the opposition of Saturn, the place it’s largest and brightest as seen from Earth. So in fact it’s fully clouded out right here. Regardless of this, have a chart and a few photographs I took earlier this 12 months and in 2025 when the rings had been edge on (and even earlier in 2021 with my earlier webcam setup) as some encouragement to view Saturn when the skies allow you to.
