The Moon is about to move over Antares. Comparable views will likely be seen from most of Australia on the equal native time. You’ll need an unobstructed horizon to view this at its greatest. Perth misses ingress however will get to see egress.

North-eastern sky on Saturday, January 17  as seen from Adelaide at 22:13 ACDST (90
minutes after sundown, click on to embiggen).  Jupiter was at opposition, when it’s largest and brightest as seen from Earth, on the tenth, however will likely be shiny for a lot of months.

in Australia will see the same view on the equal time (90 minutes after sundown).

  

Mercury is misplaced within the twilight. 

Venus is misplaced within the twilight glow. 

Mars is misplaced within the twilight. 

Jupiter climbs within the morning twilight and is now rising earlier than astronomical twilight. Jupiter kinds a barely battered line with the intense stars Castor, Pollux and Procyon. Jupiter was at opposition, when it’s largest and brightest as seen from Earth, on the tenth.

Saturn is the brightest object within the north-western skies however is getting decrease.
