NASA’s Parker Photo voltaic Probe mission has detected magnetic distortions in photo voltaic wind, generally known as switchbacks. To higher perceive these phenomena, whose origins stay unsure, a examine was performed by a community of collaborators. This examine, revealed within the journal Astronomy & Astrophysics, reveals that photo voltaic jets can create related disturbances with out inflicting an entire reversal of the magnetic discipline.

This means that further photo voltaic atmospheric phenomena, interacting with photo voltaic jets, could also be chargeable for switchbacks with complete magnetic discipline reversals.
